Who may be able to join

For people with Alzheimer's dementia:

  • Adults aged over 60 years old who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia
  • People who score less than 24 on a memory and thinking test called the Korean Mini-Mental State Examination (K-MMSE)
  • People who score 0.5 or higher on a scale used to measure dementia severity, called the Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR)

For healthy participants:

  • Adults aged over 60 years old who do not have dementia
  • People who score 24 or above on the Korean Mini-Mental State Examination (K-MMSE)
  • People who score 0 on the Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR), meaning no signs of dementia

Who may not be able to join

Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.

  • People who have serious or unstable health conditions affecting the heart, digestive system, breathing, hormones, or other body systems, and who are generally in poor health
  • People whose memory and thinking difficulties are severe enough that they cannot consent for themselves (scoring below 10 on the MMSE), unless a legal guardian or carer is present to accompany them
  • People whom the research team decides, for any other reason, are not suitable to participate in this trial

Note: People who are currently in another study, or who have taken part in another study within the past 30 days, may still be considered eligible for this trial (confirm with trial site).

Important: Always verify eligibility with the trial site directly before applying.

This study is not part of the standard drug-approval phase pathway (for example an observational, device, behavioural, or registry study), so a phase success rate does not apply.
