Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed by a doctor with shoulder muscle pain caused by a specific type of muscle knot (called a trigger point) in the infraspinatus muscle of the shoulder.
- Your shoulder pain is rated 6 or higher out of 10 on a pain scale.
- You are able to read and write.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had shoulder surgery in the past or have a condition called "frozen shoulder."
- You have wounds, skin damage, muscle wasting, or scars on the skin around your shoulder.
- You have received physiotherapy (physical therapy) aimed at your shoulder within the last 6 months.
- You have had an injection or other hands-on medical procedure for your shoulder pain within the last 3 months.
- You have taken steroid medications within the last month.
- You have certain conditions such as epilepsy, are pregnant, have a fear of injections, or similar special circumstances (confirm with trial site).
- You are unable or unwilling to avoid using steroids or anti-inflammatory pain medications (such as ibuprofen) during the treatment period.
