Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 19 to 80 years, either male or female
- People who have been clinically diagnosed with a heart attack within the past 4 weeks before being enrolled in the trial
- People who have had a successful procedure to open a blocked heart artery (resulting in good blood flow and less than 30% remaining blockage), where a specially coated stent and/or balloon was used during the procedure
- People who are willing and able to sign a written consent form agreeing to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- People with severe or uncontrolled heart failure (specifically, those classed as Killip grade 2 or higher, or whose heart pumping function is below 20%)
- People with ongoing chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart that has not been brought under control
- People with an uncontrolled irregular heartbeat
- People with an active cancer, or a cancer that has not been fully treated
- People with an active infectious disease
- People with uncontrolled blood or clotting disorders, including conditions that cause abnormal bleeding
- People with a serious non-heart-related illness where life expectancy is estimated at one year or less from the time of enrolment
- Women who are pregnant, currently breastfeeding, or who could become pregnant
- People who are not willing to sign the written consent form
- People with other conditions that trial review committees determine may make it difficult to follow the trial procedures (confirm with trial site)
