Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a man or woman aged 18 or older
- You have been diagnosed with a type of heart failure called "heart failure with preserved ejection fraction" (HFpEF), meaning your heart pumps normally but doesn't relax properly, confirmed by a heart ultrasound and/or other heart measurements
- You also have at least one sign of increased pressure in your heart, such as an enlarged chamber on the left side of your heart, a raised level of a specific heart-related protein in a recent blood test, long-term use of water pills to manage symptoms, or a previous heart procedure showing elevated pressures
- Your heart condition and medications have been stable recently
Who may not be able to join:
- You were hospitalised in the last month
- You have unstable chest pain or an uncontrolled heart rhythm problem that causes symptoms or affects your blood circulation (such as a very slow or very fast heart rate, or certain irregular heartbeats)
- You have another significant medical condition that may make participation unsafe, such as serious heart valve disease, kidney disease (with very low kidney function), liver disease, lung disease, muscle or nerve problems, or bone and joint disorders (confirm with trial site)
- You are unable to exercise on a treadmill
- You are unable to give your informed consent to participate
- There are concerns that you may not be able to follow the study rules or attend follow-up appointments, for example due to alcohol or drug use
- You have any reason why heat therapy would not be safe for you, or you are unable to fit into the special water-filled trousers used in the treatment
- You have reduced ability to feel heat or temperature in your legs
