Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have a genetic condition called familial hypercholesterolaemia (an inherited condition causing very high cholesterol)
  • People who have a family history of early heart disease — such as a heart attack, sudden cardiac death, or heart disease in a parent or sibling (men under 55 or women under 65)
  • People who have had severely high blood pressure that was difficult or impossible to control for 10 or more years
  • People with a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or higher
  • People who have smoked 20 or more pack years (roughly equivalent to one pack per day for 20 years, or two packs per day for 10 years)
