Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years old or older (or between 20 and 60 years old if the MRI portion of the study is involved)
  • If taking part in the MRI portion, you are right-handed
  • If taking part in the MRI portion, you are able to safely have an MRI scan
  • You have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia according to the 2016 American College of Rheumatology guidelines
  • You have had a pain level of 4 or higher (on a standard pain scale) for at least the 3 months before joining the study
  • The area of skin where the treatment device will be applied is healthy and unbroken

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are currently pregnant (based on self-report)
  • You have a history of seizures or any neurological condition that affects the brain
  • If taking part in the MRI portion: you experience claustrophobia, have implants or devices in your body that are not safe for MRI, or have any other condition that makes having an MRI unsafe
  • You have a history of a psychiatric illness that is not well controlled, an autoimmune disease that causes pain, or a skin condition that could increase the risk of infection where the treatment device is applied
