Who might be able to join this trial:
- People diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea, meaning their breathing interruption score (called an AHI) is between 15 and 30 per hour
- People with a Body Mass Index (BMI) under 35
- People who are covered by a social security or health insurance scheme
- People who have agreed to take part and signed a consent form
Who may not be able to join:
- People who experience significant daytime sleepiness, based on a standard sleepiness questionnaire score above 10 (called the Epworth scale)
- People who drive professionally or have had accidents linked to falling asleep
- People who have severe breathing problems caused by neuromuscular conditions, as confirmed by breathing function tests
- People who are currently receiving treatment for sleep apnea, or whose doctor determines they need to start CPAP therapy or a jaw advancement device right away
- People who stopped using CPAP or a jaw advancement device less than one month ago
- People who are currently taking part in cardiorespiratory rehabilitation or who are starting a regular exercise training program
- People with uncompensated heart failure, or who have had chest (sternum) surgery within the last 4 months
- People with significant osteoporosis and a history of rib fractures
- People with a history of spontaneous lung collapse (pneumothorax)
- People with severe asthma
