Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are admitted to hospital or attending as an outpatient with advanced chronic liver disease, diagnosed based on a standard set of medical guidelines called the BAVENO criteria
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are pregnant
- People who are under 18 years of age
- People who currently have cancer, except for certain common types of non-melanoma skin cancer
- People who have, or have had, serious diseases affecting other organs — for example, kidney failure requiring dialysis, significant heart problems, severe chronic lung disease, or serious neurological or psychiatric conditions

- People whose doctor decides, for clinical reasons, that participation would not be appropriate — for example, if the treating doctor believes the person would not be able to follow the trial schedule
