- A parent or caregiver who lives with the adolescent at least half of the time, considers themselves to have a parental role, and is able to join the last 10 minutes of each treatment session if the adolescent is placed in a treatment group.
Who may not be able to join:
- Adolescents who use sleep aids in an inconsistent way and are unable to stop, or who use sleep aids consistently and effectively enough that they no longer have insomnia symptoms as a result (those who agree to keep their sleep aid use the same throughout the study and still have insomnia symptoms at the start may still be considered eligible — confirm with trial site).
- Adolescents who previously took part in the Aim 1 phase of the DREAM IT study, such as in a focus group.
- Adolescents who have other medical or mental health conditions — including substance use disorders — that are severe, unstable, or not currently being treated. Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Epilepsy, Schizophrenia, or Bipolar Disorder are not eligible.
