Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are willing to give their voluntary written consent to participate
- People aged 18 years or older but under 75 years old, of any gender
- People who have been diagnosed with, or are suspected of having, liver cancer for the first time within the past 42 days before the blood sample is taken
- People who have not yet received any cancer treatment before the blood sample is taken — this includes surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, cancer vaccines, hormone therapy, or any other anti-tumour treatment
- People whose hepatocellular carcinoma (a specific type of liver cancer) has been confirmed through tissue testing, cell testing, or medical imaging
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have previously had an organ transplant, or a bone marrow or stem cell transplant using donor (non-own) cells
- People who have taken certain medications in the 30 days before the blood sample is taken that were used to treat other conditions but have anti-tumour effects — such as methotrexate, cyclophosphamide, thiazoprine, or chlorambucil (used for immune or rheumatic conditions), or tamoxifen (used for breast conditions)
- People with a past history of any other cancer
- People who currently have another cancer diagnosis or more than one primary cancer at the same time
