Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years of age or older.
  • You have been prescribed a medication called mavacamten for a heart condition called obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (a thickening of the heart muscle that blocks blood flow).
  • You are willing and able to give your consent to take part in the study.

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have previously taken part in, or are currently taking part in, a clinical trial for any medication in the same drug family as mavacamten (called cardiac myosin inhibitors).
  • You have already been taking mavacamten for more than 7 days by the time you complete the first survey in the study.
  • You are currently enrolled in any other clinical trial, or have been in one within the past six months.
  • You had a heart attack that required open-heart bypass surgery within the past three months.
  • You had a stroke or a mini-stroke (a brief, stroke-like episode) within the past six months.
  • You have moderate-to-severe lung disease that affects your ability to carry out daily activities or breathe normally.
  • You had major surgery on your lungs or heart within the past six months.
  • You have a major surgery planned in the next three months — for example, joint replacement, abdominal, lung, heart, eye, or brain surgery that requires general anaesthesia and at least one overnight stay in hospital.
  • You were hospitalised overnight at the time of screening, or within the two weeks before screening.
