Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have heart failure caused by reduced blood flow to the heart, where the heart's pumping strength is 35% or less (measured within the 6 weeks before joining the trial)
- People who have been assessed as eligible for a heart transplant due to severe heart failure
- People whose heart failure symptoms are rated as significantly limiting daily activity or worse (NYHA class III or above)
- People who have reduced ability to exercise or are unable to exercise due to their heart condition

- People whose ICD has already delivered a shock or therapy to correct a dangerous heart rhythm
- People who have had a heart attack, heart surgery, a procedure to open blocked arteries, or a stroke within the 4 weeks before joining
- People with an untreated thyroid condition (either underactive or overactive)
- People who are currently pregnant, breastfeeding, or not using reliable contraception during their childbearing years
- People who have a physical or mental condition that would prevent participation in the study
- People listed as the most urgent priority category for a heart transplant
- People who already have a mechanical heart assist device implanted
- People who have a planned heart or blood vessel procedure coming up
- People whose life expectancy is 12 months or less
- People with high blood pressure that is not being controlled
- People who require dialysis due to severe kidney failure
