Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have heart failure caused by reduced blood flow to the heart, where the heart's pumping strength is 35% or less (measured within the 6 weeks before joining the trial)
  • People who have been assessed as eligible for a heart transplant due to severe heart failure

  • People who have had a heart attack, heart surgery, a procedure to open blocked arteries, or a stroke within the 4 weeks before joining
  • People with an untreated thyroid condition (either underactive or overactive)
  • People who are currently pregnant, breastfeeding, or not using reliable contraception during their childbearing years
  • People who have a physical or mental condition that would prevent participation in the study
  • People listed as the most urgent priority category for a heart transplant
  • People who already have a mechanical heart assist device implanted
  • People who have a planned heart or blood vessel procedure coming up
  • People whose life expectancy is 12 months or less
  • People with high blood pressure that is not being controlled
  • People who require dialysis due to severe kidney failure
