Who may not be able to join:

  • People who are not able to give informed consent to participate
  • People who have already taken part in a focus group in this study are not eligible to also take part in the cognitive interviews or questionnaire part

Group 2 – Healthcare professionals helping to design the decision support tool (co-design)

Who might be able to join this group:

  • Healthcare professionals who work directly with patients and whose role involves making decisions about heart procedures to restore blood flow
  • People who are willing and able to give their consent to take part
  • People who can understand written and spoken English

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who are not able to give informed consent to participate

Group 3 – Patients taking part in the feasibility testing of the decision support tool

Who might be able to join this group:

  • Adults aged 18 or older who are waiting to have a heart procedure to restore blood flow to the heart
  • People who have already had a procedure called a coronary angiogram (an imaging test to look at the heart's arteries) to confirm their diagnosis
  • People who are willing and able to give their consent to take part
  • People who can understand written and spoken English, Polish, Romanian, Urdu, Panjabi, or Gujarati

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose medical team strongly agrees that one particular type of heart procedure is clearly the right choice for them, with no real decision to be made between options
  • People who are not able to give informed consent to participate
  • People who do not speak one of the six languages listed above

Group 4 – Healthcare professionals taking part in the feasibility testing of the decision support tool

Who might be able to join this group:

  • Healthcare professionals who work directly with patients and whose role involves making decisions about heart procedures to restore blood flow
  • People who are willing and able to give their consent to take part
  • People who can understand written and spoken English

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who are not able to give informed consent to participate
