  • You are scheduled to have or have had one of the following stomach or pancreas operations: a Whipple's surgery, removal of the pancreas, or partial removal of the stomach

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have had serious complications after your operation, such as heart problems, a blood clot in the lungs, a stroke, infection in the abdomen, or bleeding in the abdomen
  • Imaging scans (such as X-rays or scans of your digestive system) show physical changes like scarring or blockages in your gut
  • Both of your ears have damage, redness, bleeding, infection, or other problems that would make ear acupuncture treatment unsuitable

  • You are between 40 and 70 years old (any gender)
  • You have never had abdominal surgery or a tumour, and your abdominal scans appear normal
  • You (or your legal guardian) understand what the trial involves, are willing to follow the trial rules, and are able to sign a consent form

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have experienced digestive problems such as diarrhoea, constipation, or vomiting in the past 30 days
  • Both of your ears have damage, redness, bleeding, infection, or other problems that could affect the assessment of ear acupuncture points
