Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who had surgery to fully remove a liver cancer tumour within the 4 weeks before being enrolled in the trial
• People whose tumour characteristics show a high risk that the cancer could come back
• People who did not receive any cancer treatment before surgery, except for a specific procedure that blocks blood flow to the tumour (called TACE), traditional Chinese medicine, or interferon therapy
• People whose liver is functioning well, based on a standard medical scoring system called Child-Pugh Class A
• People who have a good level of general physical wellbeing, rated 0 or 1 on a standard scale used by doctors (ECOG score)
• People whose scans (CT or MRI) at least 4 weeks after surgery show no signs that the cancer has come back or spread
• People who are expected to live for at least 3 months

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose liver cancer is a less common type, such as fibrolamellar HCC, sarcomatoid HCC, or a mixed type involving the bile ducts
• People who have signs of cancer still remaining, or whose tumour previously burst on its own
• People whose liver cancer has already come back once before
• People who have previously had a liver transplant
• People who have previously received certain cancer treatments for liver cancer, including targeted therapies (such as sorafenib), immunotherapy drugs (such as anti-PD-1 antibodies), or a specific chemotherapy combination (FOLFOX)
• People whose AFP blood marker (a protein linked to liver cancer) has not returned to normal levels by 4 weeks after surgery
