Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have cirrhosis (scarring of the liver at its most advanced stage)
  • People with chronic hepatitis B (without cirrhosis) who have a family history of liver cancer, or who score in the intermediate-to-high risk range on certain liver cancer risk scoring tools used by doctors

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have previously had liver cancer (HCC)
  • People who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
  • People whose kidneys are not filtering blood well enough (a kidney function measurement below a certain level, as determined by a doctor)
  • People who are unwilling or unable to have both a CT scan and an MRI scan
  • People whose life expectancy is less than 2 years
  • People who take a type of blood-thinning medication called vitamin K antagonists (such as warfarin)
