Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have cirrhosis (scarring of the liver at its most advanced stage)
- People with chronic hepatitis B (without cirrhosis) who have a family history of liver cancer, or who score in the intermediate-to-high risk range on certain liver cancer risk scoring tools used by doctors
- People with chronic hepatitis C (without cirrhosis) who have had a high level of liver scarring (called F3 fibrosis), whether or not they have already been treated for hepatitis C
- People with NASH (a liver condition caused by fat build-up, sometimes called fatty liver disease) who do not have cirrhosis but have had a high level of liver scarring (called F3 fibrosis)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have been diagnosed with any cancer other than a common type of skin cancer (non-melanoma skin cancer)
- People who have previously had liver cancer (HCC)
- People who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
- People whose kidneys are not filtering blood well enough (a kidney function measurement below a certain level, as determined by a doctor)
- People who are unwilling or unable to have both a CT scan and an MRI scan
- People whose life expectancy is less than 2 years
- People who take a type of blood-thinning medication called vitamin K antagonists (such as warfarin)
