Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are aged 18 to 70 years old
- People who are able to give their informed consent to participate
- People who have not previously received the Gardasil 9 HPV vaccine, or who are unsure of their vaccination history and were born before 2003 (having received a different HPV vaccine, such as the bivalent or quadrivalent type, is still allowed)
- People who were born male
For the Test Group (HIV-positive participants):
- People living with HIV
- People who currently use, or have previously used, androgen blockers or estradiol (a form of estrogen)
For the Control Group (HIV-negative participants):
- People who do not have HIV
- Either: people who currently use, or have previously used, androgen blockers or estradiol; OR people who have never used these medications AND have had sex with a person with a penis in the past year
Who may not be able to join:
- People younger than 18 or older than 70 years old
- People who have already received the nine-valent HPV vaccine (Gardasil 9), or who are unsure of their vaccination history and were born after 2003
- People who were born female
- People who have had a severe allergic reaction to yeast or any other ingredient in the vaccine
- People who have received certain medical treatments in the past 6 months, including chemotherapy, specific immune-system-affecting medications (such as rituximab or ibrutinib), intravenous or subcutaneous immunoglobulin, radiation therapy, or other immune-modifying treatments (confirm with trial site)
