Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have been diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome (a serious heart condition), were admitted to hospital for it, and have been home for at least 3 months but no longer than 1 year since being discharged
  • People aged between 18 and 65 years old
  • People who are experiencing acute coronary syndrome for the first time, whether or not they had a procedure called PCI (a treatment to open blocked heart arteries) during their hospital stay
  • People who live with family members who are involved in helping care for them
  • People whose physical health is stable at the time of the interview — including normal blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature, and no current pain — and who do not show signs of depression based on a standard questionnaire called the PHQ-9
  • People who are willing to take part in the study

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have other ongoing health conditions that require regular daily medication, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or kidney failure
