Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are either living with HIV or are considered at risk of getting HIV
- People who have been diagnosed with a stimulant use disorder, or who have tested positive for cocaine, amphetamines, or methamphetamine in the last 6 months AND report using stimulants on at least 10 days per month
- People who are able to understand the study and agree to take part
- People who speak English
- People aged 18 years or older
Who may not be able to join:
- People who use opioids, whether prescribed by a doctor or not, including those newly diagnosed with an opioid use disorder
- People who have received a long-acting injectable form of naltrexone (for any reason) in the past 30 days
- People who have planned surgery within the next 6 months
- People with moderate, severe, or long-term liver disease, or whose liver blood test results are significantly elevated (confirm with trial site)
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- People with a condition that increases their risk of bleeding, such as low platelet counts, clotting problems, or those taking blood-thinning medication (confirm with trial site)
- People with a known allergic reaction or sensitivity to naltrexone or the substances it is mixed with
- People whom the study team determines, for any other reason, may not be able to complete the trial successfully
