Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with primary liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma, or HCC), confirmed by a tissue sample or by clinical assessment using recognised liver disease guidelines
- People whose liver cancer has spread to the lungs in a limited way (called oligometastasis), with the spread detected within three months of the liver cancer diagnosis
- People with no more than five areas of cancer spread, involving no more than two organs, where each affected area is no larger than 5 cm across
- People who have received first-line (initial) systemic cancer treatment for at least 3 months before any ablation procedure, where the liver tumours are under control and the spread has not worsened during that time
- People who have already received local treatments directed at the liver, such as TACE (a procedure that delivers chemotherapy directly to liver tumours via an artery) or HAIC (chemotherapy delivered through the hepatic artery)
- People whose liver function is rated as Child-Pugh class A or B (a measure of liver health), and whose general physical ability is rated 0 or 1 on the ECOG scale (meaning they are fully active or have only minor physical limitations)
- People with no history of any other type of cancer
- People with a life expectancy of more than 3 months
- People who have agreed to take part in this clinical trial
- People whose blood test results meet the required levels for white blood cells, red blood cells, platelets, liver function markers, and kidney function (confirm specific values with the trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
- People with intermediate-stage HCC (a specific stage of liver cancer — confirm with trial site)
- People under 18 years of age or over 75 years of age
- People with advanced liver cancer that has spread to more than five sites
- People whose cancer did not respond to the drug Lenvatinib
- People with areas of cancer spread larger than 5 cm across
- People with a life expectancy of less than 3 months
