Who may be able to join
- Children aged 5 to 17 years old.
- Children who have stopped wearing soft contact lenses for at least 1 week, soft toric (astigmatism-correcting) or hard contact lenses for at least 3 weeks, and orthokeratology ("OK") lenses for at least 3 months before joining.

Who may not be able to join

- Children who have an active eye inflammation condition, such as uveitis.

- Children who have been diagnosed with a congenital (present from birth) cataract or glaucoma.
- Children who have other diseases affecting the back of the eye, beyond those directly related to short-sightedness.
- Children who have previously had eye surgery or surgery to correct vision.
- Children where the eye's internal structures are too cloudy to allow a clear photograph of the back of the eye.
- Children who are unable to cooperate with eye photography or other examinations required by the trial.
- Children who are unable to receive, or have a medical reason preventing them from receiving, eye drops used to temporarily relax the eye's focusing muscles (cycloplegia) (confirm with trial site).
- Children who are in poor general health and would be unlikely to attend all required follow-up visits.
- Children whose parent, guardian, or the child themselves declines to take part in the research.
- Children whom the researchers judge to be unsuitable for the study for any other reason.
