Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with mild to moderate sleep apnoea (a condition where breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep) that does not meet the guidelines for treatment with a CPAP machine or a special dental device (called a mandibular advancement device)
- People who were offered a CPAP machine or dental device but declined or were not considered suitable candidates for those treatments
- People aged between 18 and 70 years

- People with a severe intellectual disability or significant developmental delay

- People who have limited movement of the tongue, a condition where the tongue is tethered to the floor of the mouth (tongue-tie), or a jaw joint disorder
- People who regularly take sleeping tablets or similar medications
- People with conditions affecting the muscles used for swallowing or speaking (bulbar pathologies)
- People whose sleep apnoea events are caused by the brain rather than a physical blockage, accounting for more than half of all events during the night
- People with obesity classified as Grade II or higher (confirm with trial site for the specific measurement used)
- People with serious heart, lung, or neuromuscular conditions, those who require oxygen at home, or those with a condition combining obesity and poor breathing during sleep (obesity hypoventilation syndrome)
- People who decline to participate even though all other criteria are met
