Who might be able to join this trial:

- People who have given their consent to take part in the study

For participants with impaired hearing specifically:

- People who report experiencing issues with certain sounds seeming uncomfortably loud
For participants with normal hearing specifically:
- People whose hearing test shows hearing loss of less than 30 dB HL in both ears
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are under guardianship or a similar legal arrangement where another person manages their affairs
- People whose freedom is restricted by a court or government decision, or who are under any other form of legal protection
- People who have lasting effects from an ear infection, or who have a history of an ear, nose, or throat condition that permanently affects their hearing or balance — such as a tumour on the hearing nerve, Ménière's disease, sudden or fluctuating hearing loss, or hearing loss present from birth
