Who might be able to join this trial:

• You must be 19 years of age or older when you sign the consent form
• You must be able to understand and sign a consent form agreeing to take part
• You must have been diagnosed with chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps, based on symptoms and/or scans or camera examinations of your nose and sinuses
• You must have severe asthma, confirmed through breathing tests
• You must have nasal polyps of a certain size — at least a score of 2 on each side of your nose (confirm with trial site)
• If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you must agree to use an acceptable form of birth control during the study and have a negative pregnancy test at each visit
• You must not be planning to have surgery within the next 7 months

Who may not be able to join:

• You have previously had sinus surgery or surgery to remove nasal polyps
• You have a history of organ transplantation, such as a lung transplant
• You have previously used or are currently using medications that affect the immune system, or antihistamines (allergy medications)
• You have a history of autoimmune diseases (conditions where the body attacks itself)
• You have had or currently have any tumours in your sinuses, nose, or airways
• You are currently taking steroid tablets or steroid medications taken by mouth
• You are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding during the trial
• You are currently taking part in another clinical trial involving a treatment
• The trial doctors feel you are unlikely to attend study visits as required
• You have been diagnosed with, or are suspected of having, a serious nasal condition such as certain types of nasal growths or polyps on only one side of the nose
• You have a fungal sinus infection or have tested positive for a specific mould called Aspergillus
• You have had cancer within the last 5 years (some skin cancers treated locally and one type of cervical condition may be exceptions — confirm with trial site)
• You have a bleeding disorder or cannot safely stop blood-thinning medications for a nasal tissue sample (biopsy)
• You have a severe nasal deformity that would prevent a camera examination inside your nose
• You are currently being treated for a long-term infection such as certain viral, fungal, or bacterial infections
• You have been hospitalised for a serious infection requiring intravenous or injected antibiotics within the last 60 days
• You have been treated as an outpatient with intravenous or injected antibiotics for a serious infection within the last 60 days
• You have a known positive HIV diagnosis
• You have a known positive Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C diagnosis
• You have a significant unstable or poorly controlled long-term illness that the trial doctor feels could affect the results or put you at risk
• You have a planned surgery, unusual test result, or other condition that the trial doctor feels makes you unsuitable
• You have received an experimental medication (not approved for sale in Canada) within the last 60 days
• You are a current or past smoker with a heavy smoking history of more than 15 pack-years (confirm with trial site on how this is calculated)
• You have a current parasitic (worm-related) infection
• You have a known allergy or intolerance to a type of medication called a monoclonal antibody or biologic therapy
• You are allergic to Aspirin or anti-inflammatory pain medications (such as ibuprofen)
