Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 75 years old
- You are having a certain type of heart attack (called STEMI) and it started within the last 12 hours
- During your heart procedure, blood flow in the blocked artery is still very limited or there is a large amount of clot present, even after initial attempts to clear it
- Your procedure is being done through an artery in your wrist (radial access)
Who may not be able to join:
- Your blocked heart artery is already receiving enough blood flow from other nearby blood vessels acting as a "backup supply"
- You have had a previous heart attack in the same artery being treated
- You are having this procedure as a last resort after other treatments (such as clot-busting drugs) have already been tried and failed
- You are in severe heart failure causing dangerously low blood pressure (cardiogenic shock)
- You have a known allergy or medical reason why you cannot take the study medications (Tirofiban or rhTNK-tPA)
- You have serious liver or kidney problems, or are currently on dialysis
- You needed more than 10 minutes of CPR (chest compressions/resuscitation) before the procedure
- You have a serious physical complication from your heart attack, such as a hole in the heart wall or torn heart muscle
- You have severe long-term lung disease or are in respiratory failure
- You have a serious active infection
- You have a neurological (brain or nerve) disorder (confirm with trial site)
- You have cancer or another serious condition where life expectancy is less than one year
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
