Who might be able to join this trial:
Rheumatoid Arthritis Group:
- People who have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis
- People between 18 and 65 years of age
- People who are willing to voluntarily take part in the study
Control Group (people without rheumatoid arthritis):
- People between 18 and 65 years of age
- People who are willing to voluntarily take part in the study
Who may not be able to join:
Rheumatoid Arthritis Group:
- People who have serious heart, lung, neurological, muscle, bone, or other conditions that affect physical function
- People who have taken part in a structured exercise program within the last three months
- People who have difficulty understanding or following instructions due to cognitive (thinking or memory) problems
- People for whom exercise testing or exercise training is considered medically unsafe, based on guidelines from the American Sports Medicine Association
Control Group:
- People who have been diagnosed with any long-term or systemic (whole-body) illness
- People who already exercise regularly at a moderate level (at least 3 days per week or 150 minutes per week)
- People who have a smoking history of 10 pack-years or more (confirm with trial site for exact definition)
- People who currently have pneumonia or any acute (sudden/active) infection
- People who have any psychiatric (mental health) disorder
