Who may be able to join

  • People aged between 25 and 35 years who have been diagnosed with mild to moderate depression and have been referred by a psychiatrist, with no other psychiatric conditions, attending Creek General Hospital or Dr. Ziauddin Hospital.
  • People who are currently taking mental health medications such as antidepressants or anti-anxiety medications, as well as those who are not taking any such medications.
  • People who are willing to take part in the intervention being studied.

Who may not be able to join

  • People who have been diagnosed with a heart or cardiovascular disease.
  • People who are currently pregnant.
  • People who are currently taking beta-blocker medications.
  • People who have a history of severe mental illness (confirm with trial site).
  • People who have high blood pressure (hypertension) or hyperparathyroidism (a condition affecting a gland in the neck).
  • People who currently have a significant problem with substance use or alcohol, or who are experiencing ongoing burnout syndrome.
  • People who a psychiatrist has determined to be at an elevated risk of suicide.
  • People who are currently in prison.
  • People who have chronic liver disease, kidney disease, malabsorption syndrome, or any other condition that could affect vitamin D levels in the body.
  • People who have physical limitations that would prevent them from participating in the exercise portion of the study.
  • People who have been taking dietary supplements in the two months before the intervention begins.
  • People who have been exercising regularly (at least two days per week) in the past six months.
  • People who are unwilling to cooperate or who decline to continue with the intervention program.
