Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 years or older
- People experiencing moderate-to-severe insomnia symptoms, as measured by a score of 10 or higher on a standard insomnia questionnaire called the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI)
- People who have been referred to the trial by their general practitioner (GP)
- People who have access to a smartphone with an internet connection
- People who consider themselves comfortable enough with technology to do things like download apps on a smartphone
Who may not be able to join:
- People under 18 years of age
- People whose insomnia symptoms are mild or not clinically significant, shown by a score below 10 on the ISI questionnaire
- People who work shift work, or who are currently on maternity or paternity leave
- People who are unable to read Danish
- People who have a serious physical or mental health condition that is known to affect sleep, such as psychosis, cancer, or a chronic lung condition called COPD
- People who have been diagnosed with another sleep disorder or body-clock (circadian rhythm) disorder, such as sleep apnea or narcolepsy
- People who are currently receiving, or have recently received, a sleep therapy called CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia) or its digital equivalent (eCBT-I)
