Who might be able to join this trial:
- Children and teenagers between 6 and 17 years old
- Those who have been medically diagnosed with obstructive sleep-disordered breathing (a condition where breathing is repeatedly blocked during sleep) that requires surgical removal of the tonsils (partially or fully) and/or adenoids
- Those who scored 8 or more positive responses on a standard sleep questionnaire for children called the Pediatric Sleep Questionnaire
- Those who have been assessed as suitable for surgery
Who may not be able to join:
- Those who have a neurological (brain or nervous system), heart, or breathing condition in addition to their sleep-disordered breathing
- Those who have previously had surgery on the upper airway or mouth/oral cavity
- Those who have a current or past diagnosis of cancer in the head or neck area
- Those who have a structural abnormality of the skull, upper airway, or mouth/oral cavity
- Those for whom a camera examination of the airway (endoscopy) would not be medically appropriate
