Who might be able to join this trial:
Group 1 – People having heart bypass surgery:
- Men and women aged 18 or older
- People having coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery for blockages in multiple heart arteries, where at least one vein from the leg (called a saphenous vein) is used as a bypass graft
Group 2 – People with problems in a previous bypass graft:
- Men and women aged 18 or older
- People who had bypass surgery 5 or more years ago, where two or more leg veins were used as grafts
- People who have been referred for an internal heart artery imaging procedure because symptoms have returned and doctors suspect the bypass grafts may have narrowed or deteriorated
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose life expectancy is estimated to be less than 2 years
- People with significantly reduced kidney function (confirm with trial site for specific test values)
- People currently taking medications that suppress the immune system
- Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People with a known allergy or medical reason to avoid the contrast dye or imaging tracer used in the study
- People who are unable to lie flat on their back
- People who are unable to give their own informed consent to participate
