• The patient has already been diagnosed with a sleep breathing problem based on a sleep study done in the last five years
• The patient is not able to cooperate with a sleep study
• The doctor suspects the patient may have a type of sleep apnea caused by the brain (rather than a physical blockage), or a condition where breathing is too shallow during sleep (confirm with trial site)
• The patient has a genetic or congenital syndrome (a condition they were born with due to their genes or development before birth)
• The patient is non-verbal (does not use spoken words to communicate)
• The patient currently uses a breathing support machine (such as CPAP) or has a tracheostomy (a breathing tube in the throat)
• The parent or caregiver does not speak English or French
