  • People with very poorly controlled high blood pressure despite treatment
  • People with active liver disease or significantly elevated liver enzyme levels in blood tests
  • People with significantly elevated muscle enzyme levels in blood tests, or a known muscle disease causing such elevations
  • People who have planned heart surgery or a procedure to restore blood flow scheduled before the trial begins
  • People who have had an active cancer diagnosis requiring treatment within the past three years
  • People with diagnosed or suspected abnormalities, bulging, abnormal connections, or clotting in the blood vessels of the upper arms
  • People with hearing impairment that would prevent participation in mindfulness-based therapy sessions
  • People currently enrolled in another clinical study involving a drug or medical device, or who completed such a study or received an experimental treatment within the past 30 days
  • People with a serious non-heart-related condition expected to be life-threatening within the next year
  • People with a history of alcohol or substance misuse who are unwilling or unable to stop during the study
  • People who have had a major organ transplant, such as a heart, lung, liver, kidney, or bone marrow transplant
  • People with other serious, active, or uncontrolled medical conditions that the trial doctor believes could interfere with safe participation
  • People who, in the trial doctor's judgement, are unlikely to complete follow-up visits over more than one year or are unlikely to be able to follow the study requirements
