Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People whose cognitive (thinking and memory) problems are caused by a known secondary condition, based on their medical history, neurological examination, or brain imaging results.
- People experiencing very rapid cognitive decline happening over weeks or months, which may suggest a serious condition such as prion disease, a brain tumour, or a metabolic disorder.
- People with a history of other significant systemic illness (including cancer diagnosed in the last 3 years or abnormal liver or kidney function), neurological conditions (including epilepsy), psychiatric illness, head injury, heart events, or blood vessel changes in the brain.
- People with a history of alcohol or psychotropic drug abuse.
- People who are enrolled in another clinical trial testing disease-modifying drugs for Alzheimer's disease during the study period.
- People who have a cardiac pacemaker or other types of cardiac catheters, which are not compatible with MRI scanning.
- People who have metal splinters or fragments in their body, which are not compatible with MRI scanning.
- People who have metal prostheses that are not compatible with the magnetic field used in MRI scanning.

Trial details
This date has passed while the registry still lists the trial as open to participants. Sponsors often update a trial's status without revising its projected end date, so it may well still be recruiting — but the record is out of date in at least one respect. Check with the study contact before relying on either.
