Who may be able to join
- People aged 50 to 90 years old, of any gender.
- People who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease according to the 2011 NIA-AA clinical diagnostic criteria.
- People whose score on a standard memory and thinking test (called the MMSE) falls between 12 and 26.
- People who have completed at least primary school education and are able to complete the memory, thinking, and other tests required by the study.
- People who are taking memory or thinking medications, provided the dose has been stable for at least 12 weeks before joining (or at least 4 weeks for certain mental health medications).

Who may not be able to join

- People whose memory or thinking problems are caused by something other than Alzheimer's disease, or who also have a serious mental illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression.
- People who are currently taking blood-thinning (anticoagulant) medications.
- People who have had a seizure or a bleeding stroke within the past 12 months.
- People who are sensitive or allergic to sunlight or visible light, or who have highly sensitive skin on the head and neck.
- People who have had a severe head injury or have implants in the head such as bone screws, bone plates, or have had tissue surgically removed in that area.
- People who have or have had a malignant (cancerous) tumour.
- People who have another medical condition that is not stable or well-controlled, such as serious heart, lung, digestive, or kidney disease, or any condition that the trial doctor believes could affect safety or interfere with results.
- People with an addiction to alcohol or drugs.
- Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.
- People who have taken part in another clinical trial within the one month before joining this study.
- People who the trial doctor considers unsuitable for participation for any other reason.
