Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 18 and 75 years old.
- People whose colon or rectal cancer has been confirmed by tissue testing to be a specific type called MSS/pMMR adenocarcinoma.
- People with rectal cancer where scans (MRI, CT, or rectal ultrasound) show the cancer has reached certain stages involving the bowel wall or nearby lymph nodes (T3-4Nx or TXN1-2) (confirm with trial site).
- People whose cancer has spread to the liver at the same time as the original diagnosis, confirmed by imaging scans.
- People who have not had any previous cancer treatment.
- People who are generally well enough to carry out light activity and care for themselves, as measured by a standard health scale (ECOG score of 0 or 1).
- People whose heart, liver, kidneys, and blood counts are all within acceptable ranges based on standard tests.
- People who are willing to sign a consent form and follow the trial requirements.
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose cancer has spread to parts of the body other than the liver.
- People with a body mass index (BMI) below 18.5, or who have lost 10% or more of their body weight in the past 6 months.
- People who have taken an experimental drug, are currently in another interventional clinical trial, or have received anti-tumour or live vaccines.
- People with active or past autoimmune diseases, or a history of certain liver conditions including hepatitis B, hepatitis C, or liver cirrhosis.
- People with a history of immune system problems, a positive HIV test, other immune deficiency conditions, or who have had an organ transplant or bone marrow transplant.
- People who have had a significant heart condition within the past 6 months, such as heart failure, heart attack, severe chest pain, bypass surgery, or poor heart pump function.
- People who currently have another active cancer, or who have had another cancer in the past 5 years (with some exceptions for certain minor skin cancers or very early-stage cancers — confirm with trial site).
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- People whom the trial doctors consider unsuitable for any medical or other reason.
