Who might be able to join this trial:
For people with sleep apnoea (OSA):
- Adults who hold a driver's licence
- People who have been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA)
- People who are already on an established CPAP treatment routine (a machine that helps with breathing during sleep)
- People who have been consistently using their CPAP machine for the past 6 months — more than 5 hours per night on more than 80% of nights
- People with significant vision problems (more than +/- 5 dioptre prescription or astigmatism) must wear contact lenses during the study, as the trial uses eye-tracking equipment
For the healthy comparison group:
- Adults who hold a driver's licence
- People who have not been diagnosed with any psychiatric condition
- People who have not been diagnosed with any sleep-related condition
- People with significant vision problems (more than +/- 5 dioptre prescription or astigmatism) must wear contact lenses during the study, as the trial uses eye-tracking equipment
Who may not be able to join:
- People who experience motion sickness, dizziness, or similar symptoms during a 5-minute screening drive at the start of the study
- Professional drivers who are actively working during the study period
- People who are unable to understand the study procedures due to language barriers or cognitive difficulties
