Who may be able to join
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who currently live in the United States
- People who can read and understand English and are willing to follow the study's rules and procedures
- People experiencing a moderate level of depression symptoms, as measured by a standard questionnaire called the PHQ-9
- People with problematic cannabis (marijuana) use, as measured by a standard screening tool called the CUDIT-R

- People who are interested in receiving treatment for both their cannabis use and depression
- People whose symptoms meet the clinical definitions for Major Depressive Disorder (a serious form of depression) and Cannabis Use Disorder, according to standard diagnostic guidelines (DSM-5)
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People with a history of a psychotic disorder or bipolar disorder (type I or type II)
- People currently experiencing thoughts of suicide or intent to act on such thoughts, as assessed using a standard safety scale
- People who are currently receiving psychotherapy (talk therapy) from a mental health professional
- People who have had changes made to their psychiatric medications within six weeks before the study begins
