Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You own a smartphone that works with an app called Siopi, and you have access to a computer for video call sessions
  • You have completed the required questionnaires within the Siopi app about your tinnitus, sleep, and related symptoms
  • You are committed to following the study plan, including doing some independent practice on your own
  • You have agreed not to start any new tinnitus treatments while the study is running
  • You are able to understand and follow instructions given during assessments

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your tinnitus has a physical cause that can be detected by someone else (known as objective tinnitus)
  • You are currently using white noise generators (devices that produce background sound to mask tinnitus)
  • You have seen a specialist in voice and hearing (phoniatrics) more than twice, or have attended more than two sound-based therapy workshop sessions
  • You have significant hearing loss in both ears (above 40 dB) that is not corrected, or you have reported serious or severe hearing loss on the Siopi questionnaire, with or without hearing aids
  • You have started a new treatment within the last 2 months
  • You have a psychiatric condition that causes you to hear voices or sounds that are not there (auditory hallucinations)
  • You are under legal guardianship or a similar form of protected legal status
  • You are under any form of court-ordered legal protection
  • You are currently in prison or otherwise legally deprived of your freedom
  • You are not part of the French social security system (confirm with trial site)
  • You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
  • You are already taking part in a trial involving medication

Primary endpoints

The objective is to assess whether training that incorporates audio-proprio-phonatory reinforcement (APPR) can alleviate the daily life disability associated with tinnitus, in comparison to patients who have not undergo APPR training.
