Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are able to give their informed consent to participate

  • People who have a HiResolution Bionic Ear System cochlear implant (one of these models: HiRes 90K, HiRes 90K Advantage, HiRes Ultra, or HiRes Ultra 3D) on at least one side, fitting into one of three groups:
    • Group 1 – One implant only: implanted on one side, with no hearing device on the other side (a CROS device on the other side is allowed)
    • Group 2 – Two implants: implanted on both sides
    • Group 3 – Mixed: implanted on one side and using a hearing aid on the other side
  • People who have been using their cochlear implant for at least six months
  • People who have been using a Naída CI M or Sky CI M sound processor for at least one month
  • People who are fluent in French
  • People who are able to complete a speech-in-noise hearing test
  • People who use a smartphone

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose implanted device shows signs that it may not be working correctly
  • People who, in the trial investigator's assessment, have unrealistic expectations about what the device being studied can or cannot do
  • People who are unwilling or unable to follow all of the requirements of the trial, as determined by the trial investigator

Note: Being pregnant or breastfeeding is not listed as a reason to be excluded from this trial.
