Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are able to give their informed consent to participate
- People who are able to describe what they hear and give feedback on their listening experience
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who have a HiResolution Bionic Ear System cochlear implant (one of these models: HiRes 90K, HiRes 90K Advantage, HiRes Ultra, or HiRes Ultra 3D) on at least one side, fitting into one of three groups:
- Group 1 – One implant only: implanted on one side, with no hearing device on the other side (a CROS device on the other side is allowed)
- Group 2 – Two implants: implanted on both sides
- Group 3 – Mixed: implanted on one side and using a hearing aid on the other side
- People who have been using their cochlear implant for at least six months
- People who have been using a Naída CI M or Sky CI M sound processor for at least one month
- People who are fluent in French
- People who are able to complete a speech-in-noise hearing test
- People who use a smartphone
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose implanted device shows signs that it may not be working correctly
- People who, in the trial investigator's assessment, have unrealistic expectations about what the device being studied can or cannot do
- People who are unwilling or unable to follow all of the requirements of the trial, as determined by the trial investigator
Note: Being pregnant or breastfeeding is not listed as a reason to be excluded from this trial.
