Who may be able to join

Young people:

  • People aged between 12 and 25 years old (inclusive)
  • People who are currently a client at one of the participating youth mental health services
  • People who are seeking or receiving treatment for depression and/or anxiety
  • People who have a sufficient level of English language skills

Clinicians:

  • Clinicians who are employed at a participating youth mental health service and are involved in delivering psychological treatment to young people with depression and anxiety

Service staff:

  • People who work within a participating youth mental health service in a leadership role (such as a team lead or service manager) or in an administrative role

Who may not be able to join

Young people:

  • Young people with a moderate or severe hearing or vision condition that would prevent them from using the virtual reality (VR) equipment (assessed individually on a case-by-case basis)
  • Young people where a treating clinician identifies a clinical reason that makes participation unsuitable, such as active suicidal risk or intellectual disability

Clinicians:

  • Clinicians who are not able to commit to delivering the trial's MIND program, which involves 5 sessions over 10 to 12 weeks
