Who might be able to join this trial:
- Men who are living with HIV and whose virus has been kept at undetectable levels for at least 6 months using a specific combination of HIV medications: darunavir/cobicistat (800mg/150mg) plus tenofovir/emtricitabine (300mg/200mg)
- People aged 18 to 70 years old
- People whose kidneys are functioning at a level of 30 mL/min or above, as measured by a blood test (confirm with trial site)

- People who are patients of the Mexican Social Security Institute receiving care at the Infectious Diseases Hospital of the La Raza National Medical Center in Mexico
Who may not be able to join:
- People who decide to withdraw their consent to participate
- People who lose their Mexican Social Security Institute medical insurance coverage during the trial
- People who develop tuberculosis or another serious infection that requires a change to their HIV medication regimen
- People who have incomplete information recorded during their trial visits
- People with long-term gastrointestinal (digestive system) conditions that are not well controlled
- People who wish to take all their HIV medications as a single combined daily pill
- People who are also infected with hepatitis B virus during the trial, if they are placed in the darunavir/lamivudine treatment group (confirm with trial site)
- People who are also infected with hepatitis C virus during the trial
