Who may be able to join
- Adults aged 18 years or older
- People who are married, living together, or have been in a dating relationship for at least 12 months
- People who are able to communicate fluently in English
- People who are US citizens or permanent residents
- People in non-monogamous relationships must be able to join the study alongside a primary partner — someone they spend most of their time with
- The primary participant must own and use a smartphone
- The primary participant's phone must be able to receive SMS text messages

- People who have experienced severe physical or sexual aggression in their relationship in the past 6 months, as identified by a short screening tool
- People who are currently having thoughts of suicide
- People with a history of psychosis or mania
- People who have previously used an app called the Healthy Minds Program
- People who already have significant experience with meditation
- Primary participants with severe hearing loss that would make it difficult to use an audio-based program
