Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Adults aged 18 years or older.
  • People who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia according to the 2016 Fibromyalgia Diagnostic Criteria, which involves specific scores on pain and symptom questionnaires (confirm with trial site).
  • People whose fibromyalgia-related pain has been present at a similar level for at least 3 months.
  • People who have widespread pain across at least 4 out of 5 body regions (confirm with trial site).
  • People whose average pain over the past week has been rated at least 4 out of 10 in severity.
  • People who score at or above certain thresholds on two questionnaires related to pain sensitivity and fear of movement (confirm with trial site).
  • People who are willing and able to sign a written consent form to participate.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have warning signs of a serious underlying condition, such as unexplained weight loss, fever, night sweats, recent significant injury, possible cancer, acute inflammatory disease, or certain neurological symptoms like loss of bladder or bowel control.
  • People with significant neurological conditions (such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's disease) that could interfere with taking part in the study.
  • People with severe or uncontrolled psychiatric conditions, such as active psychosis or severe depression with thoughts of suicide — though mild to moderate, stable depression or anxiety is not a reason to be excluded.
  • People with other active and significant pain conditions that could make it difficult to assess fibromyalgia-related pain, such as active inflammatory arthritis needing ongoing treatment, severe joint disease requiring imminent surgery, or untreated nerve pain conditions — though well-managed, stable conditions are not a reason to be excluded.
  • People who are currently taking part in another pain management program that overlaps with this study's treatments, such as a structured physiotherapy program or cognitive behavioural therapy specifically for pain — though being on stable pain medication is not a reason to be excluded.
  • People who are unable to take part in exercise therapy due to a medical condition, such as severe heart disease or uncontrolled high blood pressure.
  • People who are currently pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the study period.
  • People who have changed their pain-related medications in the past 4 weeks, or who plan to change them during the study — though stable medication use is acceptable.
  • People who are currently involved in any legal proceedings related to their fibromyalgia or chronic pain.
