Who might be able to join this trial:

- People who have imaging scans suggesting possible liver cancer (HCC), or who have already been diagnosed with liver cancer and have been recommended for surgery to remove it
Who may not be able to join:
- People under 18 years of age
- People who have medical reasons that make a liver biopsy unsafe, such as fluid build-up in the abdomen, a low platelet count (below 50,000), or blood clotting results above a certain level (INR above 1.7)
- People who have medical reasons that make liver surgery unsafe or unsuitable
- People who currently have an active viral infection
- People who are not willing to sign the consent form to take part in the study
