Who may be able to join

AI generated eligibility summary. Written by an AI model from the official source data and checked on a sample basis. It can contain mistakes, so confirm anything important against the original source. How we use AI

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 19 years or older
  • People who are able to verbally confirm they understand the risks, benefits, and alternatives of the procedures involved, and who (or whose legal representative) can provide written consent before any study procedures begin
  • People whose heart pumping function is below 40%, as measured by a cardiac MRI scan
  • People who have significant blockages in multiple major heart arteries or their main branches (in vessels 2.5mm or wider in size) and are being considered for a procedure to restore blood flow to the heart

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose cardiac MRI shows that more than a quarter of their weakened heart muscle has extensive, deep scarring (more than 50% through the full thickness of the heart wall in those areas)
  • People suspected of having another type of heart muscle disease, such as an enlarged heart muscle condition or a thickened heart muscle condition
  • People who have had a heart attack within the past 4 weeks
  • People who have had a life-threatening irregular heart rhythm (a type called ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation) within the past 4 weeks
  • People whose heart is not currently pumping well enough to keep the body stable (haemodynamically unstable)
  • People whose artery blockages are too complex (such as completely blocked arteries) for full restoration of blood flow to be considered achievable
  • People for whom heart bypass surgery has been determined to be the preferred treatment over a catheter-based procedure
  • People with severe heart valve disease that would require open heart surgery
  • People who have previously had heart bypass surgery or heart valve surgery
  • People whose life expectancy is estimated to be less than 1 year
  • People whom the trial investigators determine are not suitable for this study for other medical reasons (confirm with trial site)
