Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 60 and 100 years old
- You speak English
- You have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or a related form of dementia, based on standard medical guidelines
- You have hearing loss in your better ear that is above a mild level (confirmed by a hearing test)
- You have a caregiver or someone close to you who is at least 18 years old, can attend all study visits with you, and helps supervise your care
- If you take medications for mood, behaviour, or mental health symptoms (such as antidepressants or antipsychotics), your dose has been stable for at least 2 weeks
Who may not be able to join:
- You currently use a hearing aid or any other device to help you hear
- You have a medical reason why wearing a hearing aid would not be safe for you (for example, an ear that is draining fluid)
- You are unable to attend a follow-up visit one month after joining the study
