Who may be able to join
- Women aged 18 or older
- People who have been diagnosed with a specific type of early-stage breast cancer — either HER2-positive or Triple-negative — that is in one location only, and has not spread beyond nearby lymph nodes or to other parts of the body
- People who have completed pre-surgery chemotherapy or other systemic treatment as recommended by their treatment centre
- People whose cancer showed a very strong response to that pre-surgery treatment, confirmed through surgery results
- People who are planned to have breast-conserving surgery (surgery that removes the tumour but keeps most of the breast)
- People who have given their written agreement to take part in the trial
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People who have cancer remaining in the milk ducts (a type called DCIS) found during biopsy or surgery
- People who have breast cancer in both breasts at the same time
- People who have had another cancer in the past 5 years
- People who carry certain known genetic mutations — specifically BRCA1, BRCA2, PALB2, or p53 — including cases where a gene change has been found but its significance is not yet certain (confirm with trial site)
- People who are not able to attend regular follow-up appointments
