Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults (men and women) aged 30 years or older
- People who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia by a pain specialist using the 2016 diagnostic criteria, with symptoms that have lasted 12 months or more
- People whose average pain level over the past week has been 6 or higher (on a standard pain scale)
- People whose treating doctor considers them suitable to receive cannabis-based treatment
- People who are still experiencing significant symptoms despite having already tried standard fibromyalgia treatments, including pain relievers, certain antidepressants (tricyclic and SNRI types), and anti-epileptic medications
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have used cannabis in the past month
- People with certain significant other health conditions, such as inflammatory arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, or cancer (the trial doctor determines this on a case-by-case basis)
- People with a personal or family history of psychotic disorders
- People with a current or past anxiety disorder
- People with any uncontrolled mental health condition
- People with a current or past history of substance addiction or misuse
- People who have been diagnosed with dementia or a cognitive (thinking/memory) impairment
- People with a personal history of heart or cardiovascular disease
- People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant
- People with a known allergy to any ingredient in cannabis oil
- People with a history of seizures or epilepsy (not including simple febrile convulsions in childhood)
- People with active liver disease
- People with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
- People for whom cannabis-based medicine is otherwise medically unsuitable (confirm with trial site)
