Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with advanced liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma), confirmed by two imaging scans or a liver biopsy, and are considered suitable for immunotherapy treatment.
- Your liver is still functioning reasonably well — if you have liver scarring (cirrhosis), it is at a stable, compensated stage (known as Child-Pugh A).
- Your general health and ability to carry out daily activities meets a certain minimum level (a score of 2 or below on a standard health scale used by doctors).
- A camera examination of your upper digestive tract (endoscopy) has shown no high-risk signs of bleeding, such as swollen veins in the food pipe (varices) that have been properly treated, and you have no history of bleeding from these veins.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have previously had local treatments directed at the liver tumor, or you have had a liver transplant.
- Your liver function is severely reduced (Child-Pugh class C).
- Your general health score is above 2 on the standard health scale used by doctors.
- You have blood vessel problems, high blood pressure, or are at risk of bleeding from swollen veins in the digestive tract.
- You have a serious autoimmune condition (where your immune system attacks your own body).
- You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding.
- You are not willing to take part in the study.
- You are someone who may be unable to attend follow-up appointments (confirm with trial site).
