Who may be able to join
Advanced Stage Group:
- People aged 18 or older
- People with a confirmed diagnosis of lung cancer (either non-small cell or small cell lung cancer)
- People whose lung cancer is at an advanced stage (stage IIIB–IV) that cannot be surgically removed, has spread, or has come back
- People who are generally well enough to carry out light activity and care for themselves (a standard health and activity rating of 0–1)
- People who have not yet received any systemic cancer treatment such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy, anti-angiogenic therapy, or immunotherapy
- People who have at least one area of cancer that can be measured on scans according to standard criteria

- People with a confirmed diagnosis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
- People whose cancer has been confirmed as early stage (stage IA–IIIA)
- People for whom a tumour tissue sample is available
- People who have not yet received any systemic cancer treatment such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy, anti-angiogenic therapy, or immunotherapy
- People who are scheduled to undergo surgery to remove the cancer
- People who are willing and able to give consent to take part in the study
Neoadjuvant Therapy Group (treatment given before surgery):
- People aged 18 or older
- People with a confirmed diagnosis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
- People whose cancer is at stage IB–IIIB and is considered potentially removable by surgery after pre-surgery treatment
- People who have at least one area of cancer that can be measured on scans according to standard criteria
- People who are planned to receive, or are already receiving, pre-surgery systemic treatment (such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy) with the goal of curing the cancer
- People who are generally well enough to carry out light activity and care for themselves (a standard health and activity rating of 0–1) before starting pre-surgery treatment
- People who have not received any systemic cancer treatment before starting pre-surgery treatment
- People who are willing and able to give consent to take part in the study
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.

- People who have had another type of cancer in the past 3 years
- People who currently have an acute or ongoing mental health condition
- People who are currently receiving treatment for depression or anxiety
- People who have previously taken part in another clinical drug trial
- People who are unable to complete psychological questionnaire assessments
Advanced Stage Group only:
- People who have brain metastases (cancer that has spread to the brain) that are causing symptoms
